Sustainability is more than just a current hot topic - it’s a lasting responsibility.
As a global brand activation business with a global footprint, delivering brand activation projects across multiple continents, we know first-hand why ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) accountability isn’t optional — It’s critical.
And we’re not just conscious of our own environmental impact, but equally aware that sustainability is a key priority for our clients too.
Sustainability is no longer an ‘Any Other Business’ item on the agenda, it is the agenda.
The evidence is clear. Back in 2021, EY’s report Greenwashing won’t wash highlighted the shift: "90% of global institutional investors revise investments if companies do not at least consider ESG criteria within their business model." - EY
Today, environmental responsibility is being formalised with both UK government sustainability reporting guidance and public procurement policies setting a very clear framework for corporate best practice.
Despite making tangible progress in areas like energy usage, process efficiency and materials recycling, we recognised that we weren’t effectively communicating our efforts — to clients, suppliers, or even our own team.
That’s when we partnered with our brand and marketing agency Applied with a clear brief: help us bring simplicity, clarity and authenticity to our sustainability story.
Our goal was to show evidence — not just intent. While many businesses reference a vague, unsubstantiated “journey to net zero,” we knew that only demonstrable progress would earn trust. Our campaign needed to avoid buzzwords, jargon or vague commitments.
Instead, it had to resonate. It had to be relatable, transparent, and meaningful — both internally and externally.
And we needed the objectivity that comes from an outside partner looking at whether what we wanted to say rang true.
Sustainability isn’t a finish line. It’s a mindset. A constant way of behaving.
So Applied created a campaign — and a set of principles — to reflect that constant evolution. Even the typographic design helps convey a project that’s always in “Beta mode”, always “work in progress.”
In spring 2025. our “Accountable. Measurable. Achievable.” initiative was launched with a striking ESG sub-brand, supported by a dedicated section on our website. This gives us a permanent platform to explain our ambitions and objectives, and use the content as a key business development tool.
Internally, we’re rolling out education modules to bring every member of our team on the journey. These sessions empower our people to understand and communicate Pearce’s sustainability goals with confidence.
Externally, the campaign allows us to demonstrate how we meet a wide array of reporting obligations. This includes:
Scope carbon emissions reporting Scope 1, 2 and 3
Annual submissions to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)
Our commitments to a range of UN Sustainable Development Goals
Above all, this is a campaign that feels democratic. It’s something that we all own and contribute to, regardless of our role within the business. We also want our clients to see this as something that is an essential, everyday part of our business process, not a worthy tokenistic area of reporting.
This campaign isn’t just for show. It’s a commitment to transparency — a live, evolving platform backed by measurable actions, not just marketing language.
Our ESG sub-brand is both a corporate mindset and a digital hub, reinforced by social media storytelling and hard data. It’s our way of showing, not just saying, that we’re serious about sustainability, both for us and our clients.
Its development is also part of the trusted relationship with Applied who, from close working across various campaigns and initiatives, have developed invaluable insights into our culture and corporate mindset.
